This presentation covers traumatic dental injuries and triage, protective orofacial
mouthguards, oral health and its effects on overall wellness, sports and health for all ability
levels and patients.
Objective:
1- Understand types of dental trauma and management strategies
2- Recognize the role of athletic mouthguards in preventing trauma
3- Identify the mechanisms and impact of poor oral hygiene on systemic health and
recovery in athletes
